OMEGA

Omega, founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, has become one of the most prestigious names in Swiss watchmaking. Initially known as “Louis Brandt & Fils,” the company quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality timepieces. In 1894, Omega introduced its first movement, the “Omega,” which became a symbol of the brand’s commitment to precision and reliability. The name “Omega” was officially adopted in 1903.

Throughout the 20th century, Omega made a series of landmark innovations. In 1932, the brand became the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games, a role it continues to hold today. Omega also became famous for its involvement in space exploration; in 1969, the Omega Speedmaster Professional was worn by NASA astronauts during the Apollo 11 moon landing, earning it the nickname “The Moonwatch.”

Omega also made significant strides in diving and sports watches, introducing the Seamaster series in 1948, which later became associated with the James Bond films, and the Constellation series, known for its elegant design.

In addition to its technological innovations, Omega is recognized for its attention to craftsmanship and design. Its watches are known for their precision, durability, and style, and Omega continues to be a leader in the luxury watch industry, producing iconic models like the Speedmaster, Seamaster, and Constellation, while maintaining a strong legacy in both sports and space exploration.
